When it comes to sports and esports, there is a big difference, and some people don’t see esports as sports at all. Sports require athleticness, skill, and practice, but in esports, you mostly just need skills, practice, and patience. There are plenty of pros and cons for both.
For regular sports, the pros can be that if you’re good enough, you could go on and maybe become a pro or at least play for college. Sports can be enjoyable for some and stressful for others. The cons of sports can be injuries, stress, pressure, and the strain that, if you lose, it could be it for you. Risk can sometimes be worth the reward, but if you are not careful, you can get very hurt and then never be able to play again.
For Esports, however, you have no risk of injury, unless you count carpal tunnel, and this is speaking from experience. Esports also require skill and practice in the games, but also patience, because losing in an esports game could mean you are out of the tournament, and then you are just screwed.
But unlike regular sports, you will have your chose in the type of game you play. Genres like FPS(shooters), Mobas, Battle Royals, and Fighting games. Each requires different skills as well as communication with their team so they make sure they know whatever the action plan is.
Now as for which is better that is completely up to the person, but for myself I would prefer Esports because I am not athletic and I like FPS games but as I am not a competitive person It would be hard for me to enjoy but Esports is the one I would pick out of the two. FPS that are considered Esports that are in competitions would be like Call of Duty and that’s hard to play without being in a competition.
I think the esports I would enjoy personally is if it was a race to beat a certain level in any games I enjoy like Mario Kart World I have fun beating people from all over the world but if it came to a competition I would be destroyed. Either way, as long as you have fun, that’s all that matters.
