Once you shave your face, it “will grow back 10x thicker!” according to many misguided older adults (including my mother). This claim has been disproven countless times by various healthcare and beauty professionals. I decided to give it a try last year, and I couldn’t be happier with the results.
For starters: this method doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with facial hair. While it will remove peach fuzz, these aren’t the intentions. Using a small eyebrow razor, or a delicate razor made for sensitive skin, will help to exfoliate your face. It will leave you feeling soft, smooth, and refreshed. It also makes makeup application a much smoother process. And no, it does not leave you with thick facial hair.
If anything, remember to properly care for your skin after, and before, shaving, especially if it’s sensitive. Try to find a good shaving cream before attempting this method. Tinkle eyebrow razors are a popular option to start with, but there are also electric options that are highly effective. It’s also important to remember that it is only necessary to use this method a few times each year.
Take your time to get to know your skin so you can be aware of which methods work the best for you because everybody is different. This form of maintenance certainly isn’t for everyone, and in the end, it all depends on what you’re comfortable with. Removing facial hair is not necessary and completely up to personal preference.
