The Unbearableness of Chipotle’s Portions

Although Chipotle is not considered “fine dining”, it is a chain our society knows and loves. Because Chipotle is one of fast food’s healthier options, its profits continue to grow yearly.

You would think there would be no cons, right? Well recently, customers have been expressing anger over the small rations of food they receive from Chipotle.

With mukbang videos growing on the internet, especially TikTok, Chipotle, amongst other fast-food chains, has become popular in these satisfying eating videos. This ultimately resulted in viewers being left with a deep craving for Chipotle burritos and burrito bowls. Over the past few months, this fraction of the TikTok community has been aiding their craving by going to Chipotle often.

Unfortunately, people were disappointed by the amount of food they were getting and began posting about it on the internet.

You may be wondering, “What solution did everyone come to?”

Funnily enough, people began pulling out their phones, recording or fake recording themselves ordering their meals. The workers, feeling pressured, started adding bigger portions of meat, rice, etc. to all the burritos/bowls. Even though it worked and is still working for most people using this hack, there is a downside. Some workers have seen a few of these viral recordings and refuse to accommodate the customer. It makes you question if you, as a worker would be frustrated as well, or if it is just poor customer service. There has been much controversy over this.

On a lighter note, regardless of all the fuss, it still has not seemed to stop people from getting food from their favorite Mexican cuisine. I have not experienced any issues with Chipotle’s portions, but even if I did, the food is too good to pass up!
