Thousands of People Turn Out at Ozzy Osbourne’s Procession

To the dismay of many, English songwriter, singer and Black Sabbath band co-founder Ozzy Osbourne passed away on July 22, 2025. In Birmingham a funeral procession was held to honor the famous singer and to mourn his passing as thousands upon thousands of people attended the procession. The procession started from Osbourne’s childhood in Aston and continued throughout Birmingham and stopping at Broadstreet, with thousands of fans standing by on the side of the route.

According to Yahoo News, “Among them was Simon Hall, 57, wearing a thick leather jacket imprinted with Black Sabbath logos and record signs. ‘He was a working-class hero,’ he said. ‘He represented the best of us and the worst of us in so many ways. The best thing about Ozzy is his humility, his honesty, the fact that he’s flawed like all of us and yet he did it all with an elfish smile and a cheeky grin.’” Sharon Osbourne, was seen at the procession as well and was seen, crying, in tears while making a hand sign to the cheering crowd, as shown in this post on X by The Telegraph.

Many fans online watched the procession as well and mourned along with those there in person, as the tragedy of his death after Osbourne’s final show still carried great weight. As his fame and legacy is etched forever into the history of music as one of the greatest heavy metal singers to have lived, he will continue to inspire many who mourn yet remember him.
