Tino comes through for Thurman!

Yankees Legend Tino Martinez was presented with the Thurman Munson Award by Diana Munson and AHRC NYC Foundation President Marco Damiani. The benefit has raised upwards of $22 million in its 44-year history.

Tino Martinez was a four-time World Champion for the Yankees and was a true fan favorite.

Someone once said to me that Tino couldn’t play with Thurman and the Yankees of that era because he was to nice a guy.

I told that person to not judge a book by its cover because evidently, they didn’t know Tino.

Yes, he was and is a very sweet person but in my time with Tino, I would learn that he was as strong of a competitor as has ever played for the Yankees.

Thurman Munson would have loved Tino and definitely would have taken him on as a little brother.

If you don’t believe me who knew him well then you ask Diana who knew him better than anyone who ever lived.

Congratulations to the wonderful Tino Martinez and congratulations to Diana, Marco, and John Cirillo, and the entire staff at AHRC.

Another year in the books and another great job well done for the people who are in great need of this service.
Thurman Munson would be so proud!
