I love video games, and these are some of my favorites. Dynamic characters, heavy gameplay, and story, these are a must-try if you haven’t already.
1 – Heavy Rain
This game follows four protagonists: Ethan Mars, a father who at the beginning of the game goes to the mall with his wife and two sons, when one gets lost. He sees Jason, his son, cross the street, and that’s when he jumps in front of a car trying to save him, but he wasn’t fast enough. It strained his marriage, leading to his moving into an apartment. Years later, his other son, Shaun, blacks out and loses his other son, and that’s when he learns about the serial killer named Oragami killer. He later meets Madison Page, a reporter who’s working on the Oragami Killer Case. Ethan goes through the trials to find his son and wouldn’t believe who the killer really is.
2 – Last of Us Part 1
Joel comes home to see his daughter, Sarah, sleeping and wakes her up. She excitedly gives him his birthday present and soon falls asleep again. Hours later, she was woken up by a phone call from her uncle Tommy. After talking to him, she runs down to find Joel, and they run outside after a man with vicious eyes tries to attack them. After running away, you get to the end, but a guard stops you, and the guard shoots at you. Sarah dies. Years later, he finds out he has to escort a young girl, Ellie, because she is immune to the creatures. At the end, they make it to the hospital, but Joel kidnaps her once he finds out that she has to die for the cure. He doesn’t tell her, he just says the cure didn’t work.
3 – The Devil in Me
If you love true crime as I do, this game is about a guy who is inspired by H.H. Holmes, America’s first serial killer. You take turns playing various characters, trying to escape the inspired hotel. It depends on you and your actions if you can make it out with everyone.
4 – I am Future
You wake up on top of a building, and you see basically the end of the world. After talking to a few appliances, you start building, making the environment around you better. Work to survive and thrive, through farming, fishing, and creating new tools. Exciting content is on the way as there are still more updates to come.
5 – Persona 3
Lastly, I love all the Persona games, but number 3 was my first one, and the characters are amazing. Persona 3 follows a character who is moving into a new city and finds people around him in coffins. Once he gets to his dorm, he is told what is happening. Minutes later, you are on the roof fighting a monster called shadows. Throughout the game, you decide if you want to sleep, study, read, hang out with one of the NPCs, or go into the Tartarus to fight shadows, fighting a boss every full moon, and slowly uncover the mystery of who is causing the shadows to appear.
