Trevor Noah to Host 2025 Grammys

For the fifth year, former Daily Show host Trevor Noah will take to the Grammy’s stage to host the 67th annual awards ceremony. The event will be held on February 2 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. Despite the wildfires, which have led many of the pre-show events to cancel, the award ceremony is still slated to go on. The program also announced they will move forward with a “renewed sense of purpose” and plan to raise additional funds for wildfire relief efforts.

Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Trevor Noah began his comedy career in the early 2000s as a local radio host and stand-up comic. He rose to fame in 2007 as an opening act for Gabriel Iglesias and Russell Peters on their South African tours before moving to the United States in 2011. There, he became the first South African comedian to perform on The Tonight Show. In 2014, he became a contributor to The Daily Show, which he hosted the following year after Jon Steward announced his retirement.

Noah hosted The Daily Show for seven years, stepping down in 2022. Following his departure from the show, he began a world tour. That same year, he hosted The Grammys for the second time, returning to the program after a challenging first-time experience hosting during the pandemic.

Noah spoke with Variety about his anxieties before hosting The Grammys. In 2024, he admitted to getting nervous, especially when performing in front of his favorite artists. “You don’t want to disappoint the artists you love,” he said. “I cannot imagine what it would be like to tell a joke and turn and see Beyonce [shake her head]. That would mean whenever I listened to Beyonce’s music, I would forever have that image in my head.”

Many fans are excited to see what Noah will do with the 2025 Grammys, which will come just one month after the California wildfires broke out and just two weeks after the inauguration of Donald Trump – a subject who served as plenty of comedic fodder while Noah hosted The Daily Show
