Trump Lies About Events at Capitol Riot

Former President Donald J.Trump called into Fox News on Thursday night to discuss the Capitol’s stronger security measures and the riots that took place on January 6 with Laura Ingraham. Trump called the extra security “disgraceful” and a “political maneuver.” He then proceeded to falsely claim that “there was zero threat, right from the start, it was zero threat” when it came to the riots.

“Look, they went in, they shouldn’t have done it. Some of them went in, and they are hugging and kissing the police guards, you know, they had great relationships. A lot of the people were waved in, and they walked in and they walked out,” remarked Trump on the show.

Five people, including a police officer, were killed in the Capitol riots where Trump claims there was never a threat.

There have been charges filed against some of the rioters. Trump’s only comments about whether or not anyone should be charged were, “They’re persecuting a lot of these people, and some of them should be—some things should happen to them.” Immediately after, he began talking about how Antifa should be further looked into.

Ingraham responded with, “But you would say that people who commit crimes, regardless of what their political affiliations are, should be prosecuted?” and Trump replied, “Absolutely. What you say is exactly right.”
