Why Bandit From the Show Bluey is the Best Cartoon Dad

We all know that if you’ve seen the show Bluey, you know how great a dad Bandit is in the show. Not only does he play with his Bluey and her sister Bingo, work his hardest to provide for them, and do his best to discipline them when he needs to, but he also takes the crown to be king of the dads. We’ve all seen other kids’ shows where the kids are absolute terrors, and the dads don’t take much responsibility for it at all. And then there are the adult shows where most of them are the worst dads in animated history(minus Bob from Bob’s Burgers).

Bluey is such a different show from other kids’ shows. It teaches patience, love, heartbreak, and even loss that is subtle and easy to miss unless you pay attention. It shows the difficulties of raising two young children. The patience Bandit shows, especially with Bluey, is amazing. I mean, I love both Bluey and Bingo, but sometimes Bluey can be very cheeky.

Bandit enjoys playing with his kids, like one episode, Bluey and Bingo pretended he was a horse, and he just let them poke him and tickle him, and he had fun, he didn’t complain. In another episode, he had to go traveling for work, and Bingo was so sad, but Bandit talked to her and reminded her that he would be back very soon, and once he came back, he gave her a big hug.

He is also a great uncle to his niece and nephew. Even though his niece, Muffin, is a spoiled brat, he deals with it and can keep her calm. In one episode, he was playing rough with the kids, and Bingo got scared because it was too rough, but she was worried she didn’t have a “big girl bark.” After talking to her mom, she told Bandit what was wrong, and he apologized for being rough with her and found a way to still play, but more gently for her. I think that Bandit is an amazing dad and that more dads should be like him!
