Why the 90s Era is the Best in Music

Ah, the 90s, the best time to be alive. It brought us Tamagotchis, Care Bears, Game Boy, and one of my favorites, Jinco jeans and flannel shirts. But what it really brought was the sound of amazing music to our ears.

I remember dancing with my grandma in her living room and singing along to Shania Twain, who taught me how to feel like a woman. As I grew up, I would love to listen to a tape over and over. Once they finally had CDs out, I would just vibe with my Sony Discman.

I also remember driving to visit my grandpa or uncle and listening to songs from ” Faithfully ” by Journey to ” Mockingbird ” by Eminem, and back to “Hotel California” by the Eagles. My taste was everywhere, and as I grew older, so did my love for music and diversity. I probably like something from most music genres, minus a few.

The 90s brought so many good bands like Green Day, and Linkin Park, boy bands like NSYNC and Backstreet Boys, and single artists such as Brittney Spears or Christen Agulara, which I still listen to to this day in 2026. When I moved and got a giant culture shock, I added a few more people to my favorites.

I remember one year, for my 9th birthday I got a Lil Bow Wow CD. I was instantly hooked and would listen to it over and over. His rapping was amazing at age 13, and my 9-year-old self fell in love. When it comes to rock and metal, even though I didn’t listen to them in the 90s, I went to a concert in my 20s and saw Disturbed, which was just an experience.

Ever wonder what that ringing in your ears is? That is titanius which is what those in the 90s got because they loved to listen to hard rock and metal at full blast and now we as adults suffer with the occasional ringing in our ears. But that is the price we pay for good music right? Go 90s!
