New England Patriots Host a Video Game Night for Veterans

The New England Patriots made the decision last Tuesday to be the host for over 25 veterans and their extended families for Veterans Day. The Patriots had welcomed the veterans to Gillette Stadium for food and video games, with many of the team’s players being present for the event.

This event was part of the Salute to Service initiative that both the Kraft family and the New England Patriots Foundation are a part of.  The intent of the night was to give the veterans who have served our country a night of fun and an opportunity to meet some of the team.

The event had games for every genre, age, or preference that veterans can have. Of course, they also had Madden. Some veterans provided statements regarding their preferences.

One such veteran, Ben Faberlle, said the following: “I don’t play the action games because they do bring stress,” He continues, “But I’ll play what they call role-playing games, right, so even at my age I play those games and I can lose myself in that little story.”

Andrea Morrison, executive staff of NWN, had this to say regarding the event: “Gaming is one of the best pastimes to let off steam, but be able to still compete and have an amazing time with friends,”.

The event was a fun time for all those involved, with several family members of the veterans having an opportunity to meet star players in person. And, just to be safe, if anyone was feeling too stressed by the situation, Dodge, the emotional support hound, was on standby for anyone who needed him.
