Self Love Tips

I’m tired and stressed… Sorry to rock the boat by saying that, but that is really the honest truth.  I will even say it again.  I’m tired and stressed.  And this moves past the general stress and anxiety of regular day life.  Have you read what is going on in recent news lately?  I mean even the headlines and my heart is racing 100 miles per hour… And I know I am not the only one.  With all the current issues and pressing news that plagues our world, it is natural and honestly even expected to feel stressed in the modern day.  And while I do not have the remedy to fix the current state of the world, I do, however, have some tips and suggestions for practicing self-love and self-care in these troubling times.

First one up on my list is face masks.  Now, I do not know why, but placing a mask that hydrates, cleans, and soothes my face just relaxes me so much!  Especially after coming home after a long day of classes and studying, kicking back and doing a face mask is one of my favorite things to do after a long day of constant work and effort.

Second on my list is a hot shower.  Please note that I do not use the word “shower” to also mean “bubble bath” because there is nothing relaxing about marinating in your own filth after a long day.  No, my friends, showering is the way to go.  Sitting under the shower head as the warm water washes over your skin, I cannot begin to describe in this article alone.  Feeling the steam and water run over your skin and hair, soothing the tension in your  muscles. It is one of the perfect ways to unwind and care for yourself after a long day.  And the best part is that there are many ways to go about showering.  Using other self-care products, such as body scrubs and body oils are fun and enjoyable ways to take extra care of yourself and cater to your own needs!

While these two tips are small, they really make a change and impact my overall mental health and clarity, giving me the boost I need to take on another day.  While I cannot guarantee anything, I know that these two things help relieve my stress, and I share them with the hope they may  provide similar relief from the stress and chaos in your life.
