As the celebrations for the United States 250th birthday approach, the Trump Administration has surprisingly geared up for their own celebrations in the form of Freedom 250. Unfortunately, recent months have seen these plans devolving in such a way that has left President Trump with only one major event to kick off on July 4th.
The White House is set to host an official Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Match right on the lawn of the Oval Office. It’s a bold statement and a clear testament to the longstanding history President Trump and the UFC have had with each other. However, not everyone is excited about the upcoming match.
This is largely due to the handling of Freedom 250 in contrast to the America 250 events that are being held by a separate organization. The Trump administration’s celebratory event, for many people seem to be less of a celebration of America and more of a celebration of President Trump due to his birthday on July 14, which also falls on Flag Day.
Already, loads of celebrity guests have declined their invitations to the event, including the likes of Adam Sandler, Jared Leto, Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson, and more. Another major blow came from the cancellation of a concert when too many of the planned singers opted out of the event.
Regardless, those around Trump have remained steadfast in support for the event, including UFC president and CEO Dana White, who said to reporters that he would be going to the event no matter what, even with the severe thunderstorm forecasts that could threaten mandatory evacuation.
