Bio
Timothy Walter Burton was born on August 25th, 1958, and is an American filmmaker and animator. He is known for his films employing a distinctive style that blends gothic horror and dark fantasy aesthetics with whimsical and surreal elements. He made his dialectical debut with the comedy film Pee-wee’s Big Adventure in 1985 and gained wider prominence for directing Beetlejuice and Edward Scissorhands as well as The Nightmare Before Christmas.

He helped direct a variety of films, such as Batman Returns, but did not help with the 3rd batman because Warner Bros thought his rendition was too dark and scary for children.  He did Corpse Bride in 2005, Sweeny Todd in 2007, Alice in Wonderland in 2010, and the new Beetlejuice in 2024.

He has received numerous accolades, including an Emmy Award, as well as nominations for two Academy Awards, a Golden Globe Award, and three BAFTA Awards. His most recent work is 2024’s Beetlejuice, for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe Award.
