When you go onto social media, whether it be Facebook, Twitter or something else, you more than likely will see some political drama about some controversial topic. Usually, that post is made by some celebrity saying how they “support their child for coming out,” and that backfires because of the comments that are against that.
It goes both ways, however, whenever the celebrity is against something like “I don’t think they should have a gay couple in a Disney movie,” they get comments agreeing and disagreeing.
Celebrities already have so much influence on what the younger generation wears, listens to, talks like, and basically their personality that they should not influence in anything political because then those people think a certain way because some celebrity thinks that way, that is not thinking on your own.
The young generation needs to be able to have their own views, especially when it comes to politics and they should not be influenced by anyone, including parents as well as anyone who is famous. I don’t think they should have influence in any role, if it could negatively affect someone.
Young children look up to not only actors and actresses but also professional athletes, and if they see one of them on TV talking about how they are against this or that, that child might change their whole way of thinking. We need to encourage children to think for themselves and not believe everything someone famous tells us.
There are plenty of famous news castors only tv and even on YouTube that people listen to a lot, and usually they have a very narrow minded way of thinking and are very right wing or left winged and that is what all their jokes and shows are all about: making fun of the other side.
We don’t want our children to make fun of someone just because they believe differently. Because everyone is different, we need to teach them that it is okay and to accept them even if they think differently. Children are our future, and we need to start giving them good influences to make them better people in the future.
