This weekend Beyoncé released her new visual album with music based on The Lion King: The Gift, the album that she released last year. The project was written, directed, and executive produced by Beyoncé and features appearances by many well-known artists, such as Beyoncé herself, along with JAY-Z, Naomi Campbell, Kelly Rowland, and more! Fashion, music, and art all come together in this album to educate viewers on Black ancestry and experiences. The album tells the story of a young king’s journey through betrayal, love, and self-identity with the guidance of his ancestors, father’s teachings, and childhood love, in a way that honors the journey of Black families throughout time.
