Carolina Herrera is a Venezuelan-American fashion designer and icon known for her gorgeous clothing designs and fragrances worldwide. Herrera was born María Carolina Josefina Pacanins y Niño in Venezuela on January 8, 1939. Herrera learned English and French growing up and was shockingly not that into fashion. At the age of 14-15 however, she designed her first dress. Herrera got married, and immigrated with her husband to New York City where she launched her fashion company, and had her first runway show in 1981, and her first perfume in 1988; from then on she build a global fashion empire with her brand. She won a Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award, and many famous people have worn her designs including: Lady Gaga, Tina Fey, and Taylor Swift.
