Celebrities who open makeup stores should be more careful with their formula and color selection (Op-Ed)

In a time when social media has completely changed the way fans interact with their favorite stars, the desire to possess an item from their favorite star’s life is more powerful than ever. Celebrities have been using their popularity to develop beauty products, such as perfumes and cosmetics, and many of these have been very successful. Despite all the attention and star power, these celebrities still have a duty to ensure that their goods are safe and reliable for consumers.

While visiting a beauty studio in Milan, Italy, Kylie Jenner—the face of the wildly successful Kylie Cosmetics—came under fire for her allegedly careless attitude toward personal cleanliness. Jenner has been the target of both fan and industry outcry over videos she posted to TikTok and Instagram in which she is shown handling cosmetics without the appropriate hygienic protection.

The significance of being careful and accountable while making and marketing cosmetics is shown by this instance. Celebrities should put their clients’ safety first, even when they are anxious to cash in on the beauty industry’s development.

Makeup is a sensitive profession since the items used on the face have the potential to greatly affect the health of the user’s skin and body as a whole. Therefore, famous people who go into the cosmetics industry need to be very careful when choosing their formulas and colors to make sure they’re safe and up to par. Serious side effects including allergic reactions, skin irritation, and other health problems may result from utilizing poor or dangerous chemicals.

A celebrity’s duty extends to showing that they care about their goods and the people who buy them. It is immoral and maybe dangerous to launch a cosmetics line with no care for the quality of the products or the happiness of the consumers. People buy from businesses that celebrities back because they think the items have been well-made and tested. Both the consumers and the celebrity’s reputation are damaged when they trust a celebrity too much to let them down.

Famous people must realize that there is a heavy burden of duty that comes along with their fame. The temptation to start a cosmetics company is real, but you need more than a pretty face to make it big in the beauty market. It calls for heart and soul, along with an honest resolve to provide them with the greatest goods and services available.
