Conflicts Between Israel and Iran Continue

It seems that the troubles in the Middle East are only getting worse, as Israel and Iran continue their attacks against each other. CNN reports that both sides are intensifying the conflict, launching drone and missile strikes at military sites and hospitals. This war shows no signs of stopping and may eventually get other countries involved.

According to BBC, this conflict began between the two countries over the manufacturing of nuclear weapons. Israel and Iran have had a rocky relationship for some time, but it seems that this issue is what broke the camel’s back. With Iran showing no interest in stopping their nuclear program, Israel initiated an attack on many of their sites to destroy the potential threat. Iran retaliated with their attacks, which is what led to the current position that both sides find themselves in. Now that civilians are being caught up in the middle of this war, both sides are worried about the safety of their people and where they can go to escape the violence.

At this time, the United States has not decided if they should weigh in on the war. Openly siding with Israel has the potential risk of angering Iran and roping America into the conflict. There are already thousands of soldiers in the Middle East, so it depends on the current administration if these troops will take action. There is no telling if America’s involvement will put an end to the war or if it will escalate matters. In any case, these countries will continue to fight, and we can only hope that the fighting will end soon.
