It has been over ten years since the tragic death of beautiful R&B singer Aaliyah. It has also been long over a decade since her angelic voice graced the sound waves with a new record. Well, rapper/singer Drake intends to solve this matter by executive producing a new album that will feature unreleased tracks of the late singer’s voice. The first single ‘Enough Said,’ released today to mixed reviews. While a number of people were enthusiastic about hearing Aaliyah’s voice again, many fans felt that Drake took a step out of line producing the record without the help and guidance of producer Timbaland, and rapper Missy Elliot. Both were good friends with Aaliyah up until her passing and were more familiar with the production of her music. Timbaland released a statement saying, “I know they trying to drop some Aaliyah records, but if he do it, it should be with me and Missy. The proper way for him to do that would be me, him and Missy to be all on the record. But to put it on his record, would just not be right.” The record was produced by Noah “40” Shebib.
