Since the beginning of the Trump Administration’s second term, there has been no shortage of products that the administration has put forward in the hope of emboldening support from its biggest fans.
From cryptocurrency, paintings, and apparel, there seems to be a vested interest from the Trump Administration to push out this type of material the second time around. That said, the Trump phone seems to be this administration’s most egregious product launch yet.
Criticism of the phone materialized soon after the Trump phone and its accompanying mobile service were announced in June 2025. While many dedicated Trump supporters were quick to purchase the $100 phone, for many, the promises the administration made were far too far-fetched to be believable. It hardly helped that after being advertised as being made completely within the United States on the official website, it was completely scrubbed months later.
So, as the months passed by with no updates, many people were beginning to wonder if their hesitation was right. That changed when Trump phones were finally issued to the press for hands-on reviews, but even then, the problems didn’t go away.
Many theorize that these phones are largely made overseas. Others, particularly those within the tech field, note that these phones have a similar design to the HTC U24 Pro.
Still, even with these sneak peeks, the public, particularly those who’ve spent hundreds of dollars on these phones, isn’t satisfied. They likely won’t be until they get their hands on these phones themselves. However, even getting a Trump Phone isn’t guaranteed. As of April 2026, the terms and conditions were updated, stating that the $100 deposit didn’t guarantee delivery and only offered a conditional opportunity for purchase.
