The Chinese AI Bubble has Burst

The Chinese AI bubble has burst, and they’ve lost $480 billion dollars. I never believed it would happen, but here we are. It’s a breath of fresh air after all kinds of awful news and AI forcing itself into every crevice of our daily lives.

With this unprecedented loss for AI companies in one of the biggest countries on earth, it paints a pattern that other countries, hopefully the U.S., will follow suit and lose billions thanks to their crummy AI practices.

Now, everywhere we search on the internet, there is always a chatbot ready to “assist” us with tasks such as researching, writing, generating art, or even coding. Companies forced it into everything. These AI data centers take up tons of space and use up tons of water and electricity. They’ve skyrocketed the price of RAM and other computer parts, so now a computer is double or more of what it’s worth due to part demand.

It’s all a big worldwide scheme for these AI companies to rake in profit, but they’ve been losing profit due to the anti-ai stance of millions. The cost of running all of these data centers stays the same, but the actual profit of these AI chatbots, with how many companies are competing to stay afloat, changes often.

I’d love a day where I’m not forced to see an AI chatbot every time I search up something on Google. AI-generated products now fill all kinds of markets, including new “vibecoding,” and both AI-generated games and Etsy products are common. Getty Images is going bankrupt due to competition from AI-generated images. I’m sick of it all. Nothing’s honest.

The best-case scenario is a downsizing of China’s AI presence, prompting other countries to follow suit and establish regulations. This situation negatively affects them because now it’s hurting what the higher-ups actually care about: their pockets.
