Julio Mena, also known as Melody Monster, is an American singer-songwriter. Born in Hartford, Connecticut, Mena grew to love music at a young age while raised within a large black and latino community and the cultural music genres that came with it. Mena began his professional career under the mentorship of Javi Ayala and Willie Valentine of Artistic Recordings. During that time, he performed as a member of the music group named Facade in various popular venues like Madison Square Garden.

Eventually, Mena broke away to start his solo career. His first tracks showcased a hybrid music style of Urban Pop, R&B and Hip-Hop combined with a significant vocal range. Mena began releasing more tracks and collaborating with other artists within the industry like Mr. Cheeks, and Cuban Link.
