English actor Anthony Head has unfortunately passed away after complications arose in consequence of pneumonia. Most famously recognized for his roles in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”, “Ted Lasso”, and “The Stranger”, Head has graced many television screens across his decades of long-acting career. Passing on at the age of 72, Head has left us shocked and saddened due to this sudden loss of a legendary actor.
According to media reports, Head was “…surrounded by his family” when he sadly succumbed to the complications, as reported by his two daughters, Emily and Daisy Head, who first spoke to the BBC. Explaining with “heavy hearts”, Emily and Daisy Head confirmed the death of their “extraordinary father” on June 5, 2026.
Television surely will not be the same without his presence. Growing up with the show, “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”, I can always recall the show in the background of my childhood home — a comfort I have found in recent years. First introduced by my sister, I can recognize the true gem and talent Head had as an actor that could never be replicated again. However, now with the knowledge of Head’s passing on my mind, the show truly will now never be the same.
With a heavy heart myself, I would like to extend my condolences to the Head family and wish them the best of fortune during these truly sad times of losing a loved one.
