Marvin Allister is the New Jersey-based indie singer behind Machinery of the Human Heart, or MOTHH. A relatively new voice in music, they emerged onto streaming apps and music sites in 2022 with “Jesus on the Telephone,” the first single of their debut album “Surgery,” released later that year.
Self-described as queer theater-pop, Allister’s music carries visceral connections to mental health, deep philosophical struggles and the messiness of human connection in this weird world.
