Rising American rapper and singer-songwriter Rodarius Marcell Green (Rod Wave) was born in St. Petersburg, Florida in 1998 to a challenging family life. In his early life, multiple factors, including his parents divorce, his father’s incarcerated, and money troubles led Rod to an early life on the streets for work.
 
Rod’s life slowly made a turnaround thanks to the help of his father, who saw his potential in music and encouraged his sone to pursue that talent once he was released from prison. Much of the influence of Rod’s music came from popular artists like E-40, Chingy, Chief Keef, Kanye West, and Kevin Gates who Rod had been a professed fan of since the eight grade.
 
Following the start of his music career in 2016, Rod got his first explosion of success in 2019 thanks to TikTok with his single Heart on Ice. This lead to his 2019 album Ghetto Gospel with Alamo Records to peak at number ten on the US Billboard 200. His success has lead to many collaborations with with a variety of artists including Kodak Black and Kevin Gates.
 
Rod Wave has a total of fifteen albums, five which are studio albums, 24 singles and one extended play.
