Her seat on The View is barely warm but Jenny McCarthy might already be on her way off of the popular daytime talk show. McCarthy replaced Elizabeth Hasselbeck after research found that viewers thought Hasselback was too conservative, but McCarthy is proving to be just as controversial, if not more so. A source told Radar that “ABC has begun doing deep research on Jenny’s work on the show and the initial findings are that viewers want to tune out the second she opens her mouth!” And the ratings prove it! Since the former Singled Out host joined the show, viewership has dropped to an average of 3.023 million total viewers, down from 3.239 million in the first three weeks of last season, according to The Wrap. While show bosses, including Barbara Walters, claim they aren’t giving McCarthy the ax just yet, she’s skating on thin ice until those ratings improve.
