Sam Smith is a British singer-songwriter who rose to fame in 2012 after being featured on the song, “Latch,” with EDM group Disclosure. Since then, they have gone on to become one of the most powerful voices in mainstream pop music, with songs that are filled with emotion, telling stories of heartbreak, desperation, and fragility.

Sam Smith is a four-time Grammy winner and took home an Academy Award in 2016 for their song, “Writing’s on the Wall,” from the James Bond film, ‘Spectre.’ Their 2017 album, The Thrill of it All, reached number one in eight different countries, including the U.S., and the U.K.

In October 2020, Smith released a new album, Love Goes. Though the album was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, its release was well worth it and reached number five on the Billboard charts. The pop record also won a GLAAD Media Award in April 2021.
