Spotlight: Fernando Tatis Jr.

There is a new star in baseball and no his name does not end in Trout or Judge. No his name is Fernando Tatis Jr. and he is a machine. If you have seen any baseball this season you have heard of Tatis Jr. He gets talked about in games he’s not even in. Tatis Jr. plays for the San Diego Padres and is currently leading the MLB in home runs with 12 and RBIs with 29. He is a second year player who got called up in the middle of last season.

Not only is Tatis Jr. a phenomenal batter, he is a fantastic defensive player as well. Already this year he has made game winning plays on both sides of the ball but he is also just a highlight machine. Tatis Jr has established himself as one of the rising stars of the MLB and the Padres are clearly benefiting from his presence. The Padres are 2nd in team RBIs and 3rd in HRs in the MLB. They are currently a top 10 team in the MLB whereas last year the Padres finished as the 8th worst team in the league record wise. Tatis is anchoring a high powered offense while also playing great defense which is all you can ask out of a young star and he will only continue to get better. Watch out for Fernando Tatis Jr. and the San Diego Padres this year and years to come.
