Sza Makes On-Screen Debut With Keke Palmer in New Buddy Comedy

On Friday, January 17, 2025, hit singer Sza made her big-screen debut opposite American darling Keke Palmer in the hit new comedy One of Them Days. Directed by Lawrence Lamont and distributed by Sony Pictures, One of Them Days follows best friends Dreux (Palmer) and Alyssa (Sza) after the latter’s boyfriend steals her rent money.

Featuring appearances by iconic comedian Kat Williams and Abbott Elementary star Janelle James, One of Them Days is fun from start to finish due to the incredible comedic writing of Syreeta Singleton, who previously worked with executive producer Issa Rae on the finale for Insecure

One of Them Days is Sza’s first feature film. The “Kill Bill” and “Good Days” singer has previous on-screen experience filming several of her hit music videos. In 2019, she received a Grammy nomination and an Oscar nomination for her song “All of the Stars,” which was featured on the soundtrack for Black Panther.

Sza isn’t the only musical artist in the cast. Palmer, her co-star, also has an impressive recording history. Starting her career working with Disney and Nickelodeon, Palmer released several early 2000s bops; however, her recent single, “Afford It,” appeared on the film’s official playlist. Other featured artists include Doechii, Flo Milli, and Migos.

One of Them Days is an incredibly fun buddy comedy that showcases the power of female friendship to overcome anything—even the idiocy of incompetent boyfriends. Palmer and Sza’s chemistry sells the narrative, and many hope this is just the beginning of Sza’s film career.
