An inexperienced Virginia police officer pulled into a cul-de-sac in Riverside and parked close to the house of a teenage girl he had met online while posing as someone else, according to the police.

The suspect involved in the random box-cutter attack on a 59-year-old Asian woman in NYC has been arrested and charged with a hate crime, police said. Anthony Evans, 30, was caught on camera slashing the 59-year-old woman Sunday morning as she was walking along Seventh Avenue near West 42nd Street in Manhattan, authorities say. Evans– who had been previously arrested more than 30 times– was arrested by the NYPD on Tuesday in Manhattan and charged with assault as a hate crime and criminal possession of a weapon.

A West Virginia woman has awoken from a two-year long coma after being ruthlessly attacked and identified her brother as the attacker, according to police reports. Since June of 2020, Wanda Palmer has been in a long term facility in New Martinsville, West Virginia. Jackson County police said that Palmer was “attacked, hacked, and left for dead.” Palmer, 51, has since woken up from her coma, and accused her brother of attacking her at her residence near Cottageville, West Virginia.

9 people injured in a drive-by shooting in Newark

Eight adults and 1 teenager were injured last Thursday in a shooting in the US city of Newark. The incident took place at around 6:20 p.m. when police were alerted to the shooting by the city’s ShotSpotter technology, a gunshot detection and alerting system that detects the sound of gun violence and then send alerts to officers with specific locations. The victims were rushed to the hospital to treat severe gunshot wounds.

According to the Sheriff of Lauderdale County, Rick Singleton, no law enforcement officers fired shots.
