Tyla Laura Seethal is a South African singer and songwriter. Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Tyla’s music career began at the end of high school when she began posting covers and original songs online until she was discovered by Garth von Glehn, her first manager.

Her debut single, Getting Late, was released after Tyla finished highschool after finishing high school, garnering over several million views on YouTube and helping to nominate her for a South African Music Award for Best Music Video of the Year in 2022. Tyla kept releasing music until the viral success of her 2023 single, Water, led her to a Grammy Award and helped kick her name into the international market.

A year later, Tyla would release her debut album. Since then, she has won two BET Awards and Billboard Music Awards, three MTV Europe Music Awards, and much more. On Spotify, she has an active monthly listener base of over 28 million.
