Vicky White and Casey White’s Motel Room Hideout Now Has A Waiting List

The Indiana motel room used by the fugitives Vicky and Casey White as a hideout while on the run from police has an ever-growing waitlist. People hope to stay in the same room that the fugitives used to escape law enforcement.

According to NBC News, more than 65 people are on the waiting list to stay in Room 150 at Motel 41 in Evansville, Indiana. As of now, the price has jumped from $63 a night to $100 per night, according to a motel clerk. The receptionist at the motel states, “I’m getting like a million phone calls from it. It is pretty strange.”

Vicky and Casey White, who were not married, were captured on May 9 at the motel, just after ten days of being reported missing by the Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office. Just after, Vicky White stated she was transporting Casey White to the courtroom for a mental-health evaluation, although the pair never returned.

When captured, law enforcement said that Vicky White died from self-inflicted gunshot wounds during the chase to capture the two fugitives. Casey White, however, who was being held for capital murder, is now back in custody. Casey was serving 75 years in prison for attempted murder and other charges at the time of his space. He is currently awaiting trial for the stabbing of a 58-year-old woman that happened during a burglary in 2015. If Casey is convicted, he could face the death penalty.

The escape between the two happened on Vicky’s last day at work. Additionally, she did not have a second officer accompany them out of prison, which was against jail policy.

According to the law enforcement, the couple had stayed at the Mote; 41 for a week and planned to stay another week before their plan was ruined. They checked into the motel with the help of a homeless man who paid to book the room for them. The identity of the man had not been disclosed.
