What The Beli?: Why A New Restaurant Rating App Has Taken Over

What The Beli?

Yep, that’s exactly what I said.

I’m not Rob49 but most people should know what I’m talking about. But in case you didn’t know, allow me to introduce you without committing an ad-induced spiel.

Believe is a new social restaurant app that’s been going strong since 2021. Its founders Judy Thelen and Eliot Frost, a couple, were inspired from countless plotting of various restaurants they would visit on dates. Considering it’s based in New York City, it’s understandable why the app was created to fulfill an organized list for foodie lovers.

Thanks to Gen Z, the app blew up in 2023 and soared to new heights two years later. Raising $12 million in total as of June 2025.

Now, with all these achievements, I never once explained what this app truly does. So, what sets it apart from those before it, including Yelp, is that it allows users to rate meals, create lists, interact with fellow diners and amass points on a leaderboard.

This feature helps people document the past restaurants that they’ve been in. So, in case you forget the last place you ate. You can always open up the Beli app and find a list of food joints visited so far.

Not only is it popular in New York City, it’s huge in Chicago and San Francisco. Plus, as the app grows in demand and recognition, many people from outside of the U.S. are using it too. A sign that the app is here to stay.

If you ever need a bite to eat with friends, your partner, or family. Make sure you use the Beli app to pick out your next Foodie adventure.

It’s worth the reservation and bite!
