Legendary rapper Snoop Dogg carries Olympic Flame as one of the final torch-bearers ahead of opening ceremony

Snoop Dogg is everywhere during the Olympic ceremony today, and this morning you could have seen him carrying the Olympic torch toward the site of the opening ceremony.

Snoop carried the torch through Saint-Denis, a suburb in Paris. He was one of the final bearers for the torch, which holds the Olympic flame that was lit in Greece back in April. It has slowly made its way to Paris since then.

Snoop expressed his gratitude toward the United States and France for the opportunity, per an interview earlier this week.

“I look at this as a prestigious honor and something I truly respect. I would have never dreamed of nothing like this,” he said.

The 27-time Grammy-nominated and Emmy Award winning rapper will be covering the Olympics with NBC, part of the broadcaster’s attempt to increase ratings by incorporating pop culture.

There are many stars who will also be covering the Olympics, the most notable of which being actor and comedian Kevin Hart with his co-host and SNL cast member Kenan Thompson. Titled “Olympic Highlights with Kevin Hart and Kenan Thompson,” the comedic duo will film eight episodes, and will release 2-3 episodes per week containing Olympic-themed in-studio competitions, hilarious conversations, and interviews.

With the opening ceremony underway, there is still much speculation on who will be the final torch-bearer for the Olympic flame. A number of notable French athletes and important figures are being suggested, such as track star Marie-Jose Perec and former French soccer player Zinedine Zidane, who helped France win their first World Cup title in 1998, on their home turf.

You can watch the 2024 Olympic Games on NBC and Peacock, July 26 through Aug. 11.
