EA Sports has revealed a look into “Madden NFL 26,” and the cover athlete is none other than the running back of the Philadelphia Eagles, Saquon Barkley. EA Sports’ “Madden NFL” video game series has been running for a long time, with more than 40 different editions and versions throughout its history. With “Madden NFL 26” coming soon, Barkley has been chosen as the face of the next game.
Barkley as the face of the next game is a solid choice, with him stating that “starring on the cover of Madden NFL 26 and being named to the Madden NFL ’99 Club’ are both dreams come true” and “I’m grateful to my teammates, coaches and Eagles fans for their support and I can’t wait to hit the field again to give Madden players more highlight-reel moments in Madden NFL 26.”
Being able to get onto the cover of a “Madden” game is a big accomplishment, with a shot of the remarkable reverse hurdle against Jacksonville from the game in 2024 being the cover. Such an immense moment in NFL history being used for the next cover was a perfect pick. According to Evan Dexter, the vice president of franchise strategy and marketing for “Madden NFL,” “Saquon’s reverse hurdle was one of the rare, defining moments in NFL history that would have once been described as ‘something out of a video game.'”
This has also earned Barkley a place in the Madden 99 club, which includes the players who are most highly rated in the game, as he makes history as the first offensive Eagles player to join.
