Over the past few days, The New York Yankees and the Toronto Blue Jays have played two division series games against each other. Over these two games, the Blue Jays have taken the win from the Yankees, leaving them at risk of dropping out of the running for the championship.
In Game One, the Blue Jays dealt a devastating blow to the Yankees, winning the first game 10-1, a complete blowout victory. In game two, the Yankees sought to close the gap and put in a great effort, scoring an impressive 7 points. However, the Blue Jays were not going to give up their chance at the championship, scoring a staggering 13 points over the course of the game, and scoring 6 in a single inning.
With the Blue Jays having two wins over the Yankees, they are only one win away from securing their spot in the American League Championship Series (ALCS). The Yankees have an uphill battle before them if they are going to make it to the championship this year.
Game three is scheduled to be played tomorrow, October 6th. This game will decide whether the Yankees can begin their comeback run or if the Blue Jays will end the Yankees’ run and move on to play against either the Seattle Mariners or the Detroit Tigers for the championship.
If the Blue Jays win, this will be their first championship appearance in nearly a decade, with their last appearance in 2016 when they lost to the Cleveland Indians.
Don’t count the Yankees out yet. Both players and coaches have stated they are confident they can turn these losses around and make it to the championship still. Get ready to show your support tomorrow and see if the Yankees can begin their comeback or if the Blue Jays will be heading to the championship.
