Dwayne Douglas Johnson, also known as “The Rock,” was born on May 2nd 1973. He is an American actor and professional wrestler. He is signed to WWE and performs professionally on a part-time basis. He wrestled for the WWE full-time for eight years before pursuing an acting career. He rose to global prominence, aided by his charismatic trash-talking gimmick.

Johnson’s first film role was in The Mummy Returns in 2001, and the next year playing his first lead role in The Scorpion King, and has since starred in many family films from 2007 to 2025. He starred in the HBO comedy-drama series Ballers from 2015 to 2019. His autobiography, The Rock Says, was released in 2000 and was a New York Times bestseller.

In 2016, he reprised his voice role of Maui from Moana in its sequel, Moana 2. In 2026, he reprised his role of Maui in the live-action adaptation of Moana. He has worked with Make-A-Wish Foundation on a number of occasions and in 2021 he dedicated his People’s Choice Award to an American cancer survivor.
