Lately there has been some much information about the election, global news and US news about gas prices and other political issues that are going on in the world. Anyone who uses AI will tell you that they use it to get updates on all the news but what happens when that information is incorrect and leads to misinformation or much worse.
Just recently someone posted information about China having weapons to use against the United States and it almost started another war. This is the danger of not knowing the difference between fact and the stuff that AI makes up without anything to back it up. The Elections are going to make it even more confusing to know what is right and what is wrong more than ever.
For example you might see an article about Trump saying that he is taking back something he said in a past press conference or something. AI can make the article or even video look legit but sometimes you can’t even tell the difference anymore. What’s even worse is that people use that AI to spread false information and it can lead to dangerous results. It can also start arguments when not needed and political debates that are unnecessary
When it comes to voting too, who is to say that AI isn’t going to be able to generate false votes in the favor of whoever is making those false votes for. We might not ever have a legit AI free election if we will get misinformation about who is winning, what states each side won, and any other information like who is running in the next election is favored to win.
The election is already a controversial subject and people will always have opinions on who they think should win and why and why the one side is worse than the other and that is fine but there is difference in truth, fact, and opinion and we can’t let ourselves get misguided by the wrong.
