As someone with brown eyes, it can be hard to find colors or makeup trends that accentuate my eyes, especially compared to blue eyes. But the recent trend of colored mascara and eyeliner has come in handy for when I want a little extra oomph to make my dark eyes stand out. I just picked up my own blue-colored mascara by Maybelline from Ulta, and I am loving the drama it adds to a simple makeup look!
Colored mascara is also great for those who have light or blonde eyelashes. Instead of the everyday black or brown mascara, colored mascara brings some life to your eyes! A similar effect can be found with colored eyeliner, but it does require a bit more skill if you are going for a winged look. I have found that colored eyeliner formulas can sometimes appear less pigmented than a black eyeliner would when applied. I have even found this to be true with brown eyeliners, not just bold colors like blue, white, or pink. NYX and Maybelline are great options if you are looking for a brand that knows how to do color with eyeliner and mascara!
I like to pair my blue mascara with an orange toned eyeshadow look. If you are going for a more everyday look, then I’d suggest a nude eye or black-winged liner.
