Can Trump Afford To Keep Ignoring The Economic Effects Of The Iran War?

Things haven’t been going well within the United States economically since the start of the Iran war. That said, the Trump administration and its supporting republican legislaters have done their best to uphold the image of a country that hasn’t been wrecked by turmoil. Unfortunately for them, more and more of the public is growing more discontent.

With an approval rating that’s dwindling more every day, the administration is taking extra care to keep anything positive about what they have done circulating, regardless if people don’t believe that it’s real. Even now, there remains a sizable population of people within the MAGA movement and others who don’t pay that much attention to the news cycle, who are agreeable to them.

However, even for these crowds, Trump is losing them. More and more, time has shown how the repeated contradictory statements of the Trump administration are setting themselves up for failure. Particularly, Trump’s Truth Social account has done the most damage to the believability.

The president’s constant posts to the account, expressing strictly positive outlooks on the war and how close it is to being concluded, have been proven wrong time and time again when ceasefire discussions fail, or someone instigates another barrage of missiles on a target. Since the conflict began, the Iran war remains unpopular amongst most of the public, and despite the many reassurances the Trump administration has given about its near conclusion, it looks like it will be going on for a while.

Additionally, the climbing gas prices add an extra amount of pressure on the administration. It’s hard to combat the criticism of the war when average Americans can feel the conflict’s effects on their wallet. If the Trump administration continues pushing this off, this will hurt them.
