Dr. Seuss Is A Bit Of A Snooze

Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax is already a certified hit, earning revenue of $121.1 million dollars in only two weeks of release and maintaining the top spot on the weekend box office charts since its debut. But be warned, this is strictly a kiddie affair. The Lorax suffers from generic characters, slow pacing and a thin story about a boy who goes on a mission to save the environment from the evil Once-Ler, whose factory cut down all of the Truffula trees years ago. The star roster of voice actors do an adequate job, including Taylor Swift, Zac Efron, The Office star Ed Helms and Danny DeVito, whose unmistakable voice is heard in all the Lorax trailers and commercials. Adults in the audience may wonder why they’re sitting through this so-so film, but children will get a kick out of all the rated-PG humor so for a families, The Lorax is a safe bet.
