María Emilia Mernes Rueda aka Emilia, is a popular Argentine singer-songwriter, model, and actress. Born in Nogoyá, Entre Ríos, Argentina, Emilia developed an early interest in music thanks tinger grandfather, who gifted her a guitar. 

 

A few years later, Emilia began uploading covers online and gained a following. Eventually, in 2016 she got her first taste of stardom as the lead vocalist for the 

the Uruguayan cumbia pop band Rombai. Emilia stayed with the band for four years before saying her goodbyes in 2018, signing onto the label Sony Music Latin and management company WK Entertainment a year later.

 

Emilia saw success with her first solo single “Recalienta” and collaborative single El Chisme”. Her third single “No Soy Yo”, which featured Joel Pimentel, Oriana Sabatini and Johann Vera, landed at the 38th spot on the Billboard Latin Pop Airplay chart.

 

Emilia saw her lead single of her first studio album Tú Crees en Mí? reach the top ten in Argentina for the first time ever and made certified platinum. In 2023, Emilia released her second studio album .MP3.
