When someone states their opinion about a certain controversial politic topic people are very quick to judge and assume they are a bad person based on what they believe. You are pro-choice? Then you are a murder. If you are pro-guns then you are likley to use it for bad. Raise taxes for the rich and less for the poor? Depending on your economic status people could see you as lazy because you want to pay less.
The thing is that people are taught those beliefs at a young age, they are influenced by those beliefs because of social media. You grow up in a christian household, and to wait till marriage, and that being anything other than straight is a sin. But then you grow up realizing you are gay, get pregnant at 16 and not allowed to get an abortion.
I see celeberties posting about how their child came out as trans and how they will love and support them but then you see the comments and people will say things like “get them some help, or it’s abuse to let your kid believe they are the other gender.” Judging someone because they support their child who is trans is just inappropirate.
There is too much judgement in the world about pretty much everything but the important topics, the ones that can alter someone’s life, like the legalization of gay marriage. It’s been several years and people still discriminate and teach their young children that its wrong to see two men or two woman kissing or holding hands. Or that a woman who transitions to a man should not going into the men’s restroom because you’ll feel uncomfortable. Like they are going to do anything other than use the bathroom.
Some of the things that people judge about is beyond my understanding. Two men or women kissing doesn’t effect anyone but them, a transwoman isn’t going to harass your child in the bathroom, she just wants to use the restroom.
If people focused on the big problems like hunger, war, and medical conditions I think the world would be less judgemental. We need to make the world a better place.
