My grandma loves watching videos of people getting arrested by the police and acting violent, or just plain foolish, and most of the time it’s a police officer who uploaded it. To me, I think it invades people’s privacy, and it probably is seen by friends, family, and maybe even a boss. Nobody wants something that personal for everyone to see, especially when they are screaming at the cops that they did nothing wrong.
The videos I’ve seen are mostly women, and they refuse to get out of the car most of the time, and they are usually screaming that their rights are violated, and some even say that it’s police brutality. Now, I have never been a cop, so I don’t know all the things they have to put up with, but I feel as if it was them getting arrested they wouldn’t like it either. I mean I wouldn’t want my interaction to be put on social media myself.
But maybe since they broke the law and didn’t cooperate and possibly were endangering lives, such as a child in a carseat or someone else, especially if they were intoxicated, then their right to privacy is out the window and they deserve it. That’s the only time I would think it’s right, but to be fair, the people usually in the videos are women who feel they are entitled to do whatever they want.
I’ve seen videos of people just going on someone’s porch and taking things because they liked it, and they felt they were entitled to have it. Others show someone getting mad because their neighbor has an animal they don’t like and think they have the right to make them get rid of the animal because “they don’t want a dog living near them.” Those are very extreme cases, and to be honest, they are viral online because they are entertaining to watch.
In a world where we are stuck with people who feel they are entitled to anything they want, let’s choose to “kill” them with kindness.
