The War between Iran and the United States of America is a battle that stretches far past what has transpired recently. This is a war built on decades’ worth of political issues between the US and Iran. From historical disputes, nuclear programs, militant group support, political mistrust, political uprooting, and now most recently the conflicts surrounding economics and the Strait of Hormuz, this massive conflict between these two countries is one of the most questionable. It has become one of the biggest issues for all countries involved and affected.
This conflict, being led by economic control and political alliances, has become a massive detriment to the world as a whole. To fully understand the situation, one must grasp the importance of the Strait of Hormuz. The Strait of Hormuz is the primary export route for oil and crude oil barrels from the Persian Gulf, which is about 20% altogether.
So with such an important economic tool at Iran’s disposal, this war has become a major detriment to everyone involved and not. This conflict has been a direct detriment to the view and perception of United States President Donald Trump. With the US in turn reigniting this decades-long conflict with Iran, many Americans, both left- and right-wing in belief and values, are turning and/or tuning against the President himself; wondering what the purpose of our country being involved with conflicts amongst Middle Eastern allied countries is, even when many Americans disapprove of it themselves.
The effect of this war in Iran and other recent questionable political decisions spearheaded by the president has warped many views and perceptions of President Trump. This ever-changing mindset can be most clearly and evidently seen in this continued massive drop in his approval rates among American citizens.
Even in many republican political led states, his approval ratings are dropping immensely quickly. And it’s not just President Trump being affected by this change in view; as many republican representatives President Trump has backed politically are losing elections, in effect from the War in Iran and how President Trump’s actions are being viewed by American citizens.
