Marvel gives update on its upcoming TV spin-offs

According to Entertainment Weekly, updates on Marvel’s upcoming television spin-offs have been announced on a recent episode from the Official Marvel Podcast. Marvel’s TV boss Brad Winderbaum detailed the development of several Marvel Spin-offs, the first being “Eyes of Wakanda”.

The show was first announced back in December 2023. According to the series description, “Eyes of Wakanda” will follow a team of Wakandans tasked with retrieving weapons made up of Vibranium, Wakanda’s iconic alien mineral.

“Eyes of Wakanda, more than any other show we’re doing in animation, ties directly into the MCU,” said Winderbaum. “This is a story about Wakandan history. It’s produced by Ryan Coogler, it’s directed by Todd Harris who is one of our longtime storyboard artists, who I first met when he designed the Hulk vs. Thor fight in Thor: Ragnarok. It’s an awesome show. The action’s insane, and the storytelling is fantastic. It’s about the history of Wakanda, but it also expands into the greater MCU at different time periods. So if you’re a fan of the movies, this is gonna be a real treat.”

Winderbaum also talked about the Wanda Vision spinoff series “Agatha All Along”. The series follows the titular Agatha and the adventures of her new coven of witches.

“Agatha is really fun, but it’s really scary. And it gets quite dramatic,” said Winderbaum. “She’s an amazing anti-hero, and that show… it lures you in with the fun of Halloween, and before you know it, you’re crying. I’ll put it to you that way.”

“It’s a Marvel brand of scary. It’s a Halloween show. There are deadly stakes in this series. It’s a fun ride, but a dangerous one,” he concluded.

The last spinoff Winderbaum talked about was the upcoming reboot of the Marvel hero Daredevil, “Daredevil: Born Again”, calling the series goal similar to X-Men ‘97.

“Daredevil is incredible. It’s similar in some ways to X-Men ’97 because it’s reviving something that the fans love, but it is taking it in a new direction. These characters have matured. The universe is different than it was. Things have changed. Society’s changed.”

“Agatha All Along” is set to premiere in a matter of months, on September 18, on Disney+. “Daredevil Born Again” is set to release sometime in 2025. As for “Eyes of Wakanda”, the series is set to premiere on Disney Plus in 2024. Not much is known about the cast of the series, while it’s speculated that some actors from the original Black Panther movie will reprise their roles, it’s still unclear.
