Disney Celebrities Stand With LGBTQ+ Lives

Disney and its employees have shown their support for LGBTQ+ lives. Florida Senates have passed a bill that will ban any classroom discussion about sexual orientation or gender identity in primary schools. Florida Gov. Ron Desantis has shown his support for the bill and signed the bill for approval on Monday. Celebrities like Mark Ruffalo, Gabrielle Union, and Raven Symone have all shown their distaste for the bill by taking part in the walkouts and urging the public not to stand for the controversial decision.

Foo Fighters Drummer, Taylor Hawkins, Dies While on Tour

Taylor Hawkins was found dead in his hotel room last Friday in Bogota, Colombia. The drummer of the American Rock band Foo Fighters was there while on tour through South America. Foo Fighters was due to perform on Friday night at the Estereo Picnic festival in Bogota.

First Female Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright, Dies at Age 84

After 84 years, and a prolific career in the United States government, Madeleine Albright died from Cancer on March 23rd, 2022. Albright became the first female Secretary of State in January of 1997 under Bill Clinton’s administration. Prior to this, she spent four years in office as the United States Ambassador to the United Nations. A figure beloved by many even outside of the US, following her term as Secretary of State the Czechoslovakian President, spoke publicly about the possibility of her succeeding him, as it was Albright’s home country. However, she remained in the U.S., engaging in the arts, charity, and continued political influence late into her life.

Viewers and attendees at this year’s Oscars were stunned when Will Smith stormed onstage to slap comedian and host Chris Rock in the face. The hit followed a joke made by Rock directed and Jada Pinkett Smith, Will’s wife of 25 years. Rock poked fun at Jada’s shaved head, a decision she made about her appearance after being diagnosed will alopecia, something she has been vocal about in the past.
