Patrick Lavon Mahomes is a National Football League (NFL) Quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs. He entered the NFL draft back in 2017 where he was round 1, pick 10 for the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs are the only team Mahomes has played for since his debut. Mahomes has led the Kansas City Chiefs to their first Super Bowl victory since 1970 this year. They are the defending NFL Super Bowl Champions. The young player was underestimated in Super Bowl LIV against the San Francisco 49ners, where he came alive in the 2nd half and won the game 31-20.

Mahomes was born September 17, 1995, in Tyler, Texas. He attended Whitehouse High School in Whitehouse Texas where he played football, basketball, and baseball. Mahomes later attended Texas Tech University for college where he played football and baseball. Patrick Mahomes only 24-years young, is from Tyler Texas.

During his college years Mahomes athletic performance was outstanding. During his Freshman year for the season, he passed for 1,547 and 16 touchdowns with four interceptions. His Sophomore year he finished with 4, 653 yards, 36 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. During Mahomes junior year, he finished the season leading the country in yards per game with 421, passing yards with 5,052, total offense 5,312, points responsible for 318, and with a total of 53 touchdowns.

In season 2018’-2019’ Mahomes performance earned him multiple awards. He was named the NFL MVP, the first ever for the Chiefs, 2019 Best NFL Player ESPY Award, and was  named to the 2-019 Pro Bowl. Mahomes has recently been offered one the highest quarterback contract deal in the NFL for next season. The contract is worth $500 million dollar for 12 years. This contract has also been in the headlines in recent weeks on ESPN.

Although it has not officially been determined if there will be a NFL season this year due to COVID-19, everyones eyes are still on this young talent quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
