Bio

Darryl Strawberry is a former American baseball player. Darryl Strawberry was born Darryl Eugene Strawberry, March 12 1962 in Los Angeles California. Like many athletes the 6’3 Darryl started his career in Highschool, and in 1980 he got his big break when he was drafted for the New York Mets in that season he was able to make five home runs. He was drafted to the High-A Lynchburg Mets the following season making 13 home runs. In 1983, he was then sent to Triple-A Tidewater Tides. Strawberry’s 108 hits, 26 home runs, and 19 stolen bases made him the National League Rookie of the Year. Strawberry went on to play for the Yankees and became A World Series winner.
